Datasonic Corporation Sdn Bhd (Datasonic) was incorporated in 1991 as a strategic joint venture by Datacard Corporation USA in Malaysia to be exclusive sole Master Distributor of Datacard products in Malaysia. The Company has, over the years, successfully developed remarkable portfolio of secure ID & personalization solutions across the governmental, financial and commercial industries.

Datasonic is the only IT vendor involved in 3 major smart card programs in Malaysia, namely Government Multi Purpose Cards (national ID card, MyKad), Payment Multi Purpose Cards (BankCard or ATM chip-based smart card) and Europay, MasterCard and Visa Cards (EMV chip-based Credit Card) migration in the country.

We are the technology provider and exclusive sole contractor of Dibena involved in the Government Multi Purpose Card (MyKad) national ID project since 1999. In February 2006, Datasonic Corp. has then been acquired 100% by Dibena Enterprise Sdn Bhd. Following the acquisition, Datasonic Corp. has been awarded a 5-year exclusive sole distributorship for Datacard's products in Malaysia, which makes the Company a leading market player in secure ID & smart card personalization solutions.
